Solemn Celebration of the Feast of St. Sava

On Saturday 31 January, the parish of St. King Milutin in Auckland celebrated the Feast of St. Sava, the firstSerbian Archbishop.

During the service, which was attended by a large number of children and faithful, Fr. Sava cut the Slava cake. This year's host, Mr. Jovan Blagojevic handed a quarter of the Slava cake to Mrs. Ljubica Jotanović, who will be next year's hostess.

At the end of the service was followed by a program which included children from the Serbian school of our parish. During the program the children sang a hymn to St. Sava and recited poems about St. Sava. At the end of the program, the children were awarded gift packets as a reward for their hard work in preparing the recitation, and sisters from the Circle of Serbian Sisters prepared the refreshments for all participants.
